Part 4 of 9: WEAPON X #4

Weapon X concludes the "Hunt for Sabretooth" arc, despite the minor handicap that they caught him last month.  Instead, this is an issue about Weapon X reprogramming him with hypnosis, and putting a bit more emphasis on Wild Child.

The issue marks a noticeable step up from previous issues in that at least this issue, everyone acts broadly within the bounds of sanity.  While the Director may be obnoxious, you can just about believe this version of the Project staying functional for more than 24 hours.  But we're still left a running problem in Tieri's writing - woefully inconsistent characterisation.

The Project staff may be more or less sane this issue, but they were totally nuts last month.  Wild Child is apparently now just a mute guy (and how can a man with healing powers lose his voice to a throat injury, anyway?) who communicates normally in writing.  But in previous issues he was written as an animal with sub-human intelligence.  It's impossible to care about any of these characters when they can't maintain a consistent personality from issue to issue.

Somewhat improved, but still a considerable way short of giving me any reason to care.
