Part 6 of 9: WOLVERINE: SNIKT! #2

I can see that Wolverine: Snikt! is the sort of miniseries where the full review is going to have to wait for the last issue, so I'll keep this brief.

It seems fairly clear by now that the main reason to buy Snikt! is an interest in the art of Tsutomu Nihei.  The plot moves at a fairly slow pace, and it's not like it's all that original anyway.  Wolverine is in a post-apocalyptic Earth, he must fight the baddies.  That's pretty much it.

Which leaves it to stand on its own feet as an art book.  But that's fine by me; Nihei's work is sketchy but beautifully laid out and designed.  The colourists make the book all the more distinctive by giving everyone a slightly strange albino look, and do some excellent work on the overground fight scenes.

It looks great; whether it contains a decent story remains to be seen.  My betting is that it'll be a competent enough story to carry the art, which is really what this book is for.

Rating: B+
