Spider-Man / Wolverine #3.  Anyone care?  (Creative team's parents need not apply.)

It's increasingly obvious that this series is pretty but pointless.  Mavlian's rather feathery and sketchy artwork won't be to everyone's taste, but I find it very pleasant on the eye.  I'm not sure where Mavlian actually comes from, but his rendition of Paris is certainly typically American - the watchword is quaint.  Mind you, since there was no discernible point in taking the story to Paris other than to liven up the backdrop, I suppose you can't blame him for trying to make it look different.

The story remains thunderously lacking.  Spider-Man, for reasons best known to himself, continues to assist Wolverine in tracking down the people who were after him.  They go to Paris.  They meet a flunky.  They are led to Switzerland, where the next issue will take place.

Whatever.  Is there a purpose to this, other than to provide Mavlian with something to draw?  Not that I can see.  It wants to be an engagingly lightweight romp, as near as I can tell, but it's just not coming off.

It's inoffensive, but unless you want to buy it as a glorified Mavlian sketchbook, there's really not much purpose to the whole project.
