Background

Welcome to the X-Axis Index, version 2.0.

The X-Axis Index is based loosely on the Official Marvel Index series by George Olshevsky which were published in the 1980s, and revived briefly by Murray Ward in the 1990s.  Those books attempted to provide a complete history of every Marvel series, with creator details, synopses, a full list of characters, and detailed chronological info for every single story.

My version is a cross between that, and a retrospective review archive.  Every issue has an analysis and commentary on the story.  Plus, all the factual stuff from the original Indexes.

Ultimately the plan is to cover all the X-books here.  The Uncanny X-Men index now covers everything from issue #281 to 409 - from the first Lee/Portacio issue, up to the end of the Joe Casey run.  We'll get back to Chuck Austen's run in due course.  We've also now completed X-Men: The Hidden Years.

Meanwhile, we're also working our way steadily through the 1990s X-Men title, and we're about to start on the 1970s as well.  We'll get there in the end...
