Iceman (Bobby Drake) debuted in 1963's X-Men
vol 1 #1, by which point he had already become a superhero and
joined the X-Men.
Bobby's history is comparatively
straightforward. He was given a workmanlike origin story
in the back-up strips in X-Men vol 1 #44-46, which has
been largely undisturbed (and unmentioned) ever since.
Scott Lobdell spliced in some material about his relationship
with his father, and he turns up in some time travel material
in X-Men Forever. And that's about it.
UNCANNY
X-MEN #319 (flashback)
Young Bobby Drake goes for a walk on the beach after
dinner with his father William. William is unsupportive
of Bobby's dreams, and unimpressed by his sandcastles.
X-MEN FOREVER #5 (flashback)
Age 10, Bobby breaks his arm. No context.
X-MEN FOREVER #3
Travelling through time, the present-day Iceman occupies
the body of his teenage self. At this point, Bobby's
powers are just emerging. He is wrapped in a blanket,
shivering, and "always seems to have a cold." (He's also
surrounded by icicles.) His mother is heard off-panel.
X-MEN FOREVER #4
Bobby meets up with Jean Grey, also possessed by her own
future self. They achieve nothing of significance before
moving on to another timezone. (This is the first time
Bobby meets Jean, but apparently neither of them remembers it
until years later.)
X-MEN vol 1 #44, second story
Iceman's "Origins of the X-Men" back-up strip, part 1.
Bobby and his girlfriend Judy Beasley are attacked by bullies

Bobby in protective custody. Cyclops arrives and breaks
him out.

Bobby fights Cyclops, since he doesn't want to go with
him.
X-MEN vol 1 #46, second story
Professor X saves Bobby and Cyclops from a mob.
Bobby agrees to join the X-Men and becomes Iceman.
Professor X wipes everyone's memory of Iceman's powers,
including his own parents'. They know that he is going
to Xavier's school, but don't know about the X-Men.
