Also this week:
DAREDEVIL: REDEMPTION #1 -
An odd little series based on the Robin Hood Hills Murders, in
which three kids were found guilty of murder on the grounds
that one of them, who was mentally handicapped, confessed
under police questioning (only to recant later that night),
and... well, they wore black. It's an awkward mix, since
there's not really much for Daredevil to do other than turn up
and be a lawyer. When he gets into costume before
visiting the crime scene, you find yourself wondering why.
There's a really annoying bit early on where Foggy Nelson is
made to act like an idiot so that Matt can do his "By gosh,
everyone deserves a defence" routine - since when does a
criminal defence lawyer think it would be bad publicity to
defend somebody accused of murder?! Otherwise, a mixed
bag. It's well-intentioned, but it really feels like
it's trying to hammer the story into a genre where it doesn't
belong. B
SHANNA THE SHE-DEVIL #1 -
Tits! Tits of every shape and size! Actually, no.
Hold on. That's not right. Tits of just one shape
and size, really. And given that that was basically the
whole point of the book, now that Marvel have decided that
they don't do tits, and all previously drawn tits must be
obscured, we're left with a book that really is somewhat
pointless. Worse yet, fully half of this comic is
entirely devoid of tits! It's, like, men and dinosaurs
and shit. I mean, what's that all about, then?
