Look, it's late and they
shipped seven X-books. I can't be bothered writing
about anything else.
Oh, all right...
WORLD WAR HULK: FRONT LINE
#1 - It's not very good. Urich and Floyd's website
operation has been remarkably transformed into a full scale
newspaper, thanks to some clunky plotting, and now they're
covering the evacuation of Manhattan. An evacuation
which seems to involve almost nobody actually leaving, and
the aliens having a nice chat with the local authorities.
I could spend all night listing the ways in which this
doesn't match the plot or, more importantly, the tone of the
core series. Basically, though, these characters want
to be in a down-to-earth series about journalism, and
they're appearing in a widescreen story about the Hulk
punching things. It doesn't fit and it doesn't work.
